The Asian American Parent Alliance of San Diego (AAPASD) has announced 12 recipients of the 2025 Education Excellence Awards, marking the program's third year. Selected through student and parent nominations, these outstanding educators from Canyon Crest Academy and Torrey Pines High School were recognized for their instructional excellence and dedication.
Each honoree will receive an engraved crystal apple and a celebratory lunch during on-campus ceremonies in December 2025 and January 2026. AAPASD Chair Hong Wu noted that the initiative fosters a culture of gratitude within the school community. AAPASD is a nonprofit advocating for K-12 excellence and equal opportunities for all students.

On September 6, 2025, AAPASD successfully hosted its first community salon at Pacific Highlands Ranch North Clubhouse.
We invited four experienced parents from CCA, TPHS, and Bishop’s to share first-hand insights on topics such as choosing schools and classes that fit students best, balancing academics and life, and supporting children’s well-being.
Key discussion highlights included:

AAPASD members attended and spoke at the latest San Dieguito Union High School District (SDUHSD) board meeting (Agenda and Live Stream).

The SDUHSD Parent Aquatic Committee shared the latest updates on the new district Aquatics Center construction, including tour opportunities and what’s coming next. Key Updates about the Aquatic Center:
Programming: Under development by District Educational Services
Usage: All four high school swim & water polo teams may have to share this first pool while we work on plans for a second pool in the north portion of the District
Rentals: Managed through the District's Facilitron platform
Staffing: The pool will be overseen by 1 FTE Aquatics & Facility Manager, plus a contract pool technician
Facilities: The new Aquatics Center will have interior and exterior bathrooms and a concession/snack stand that will be shared with other sports and available for teams to utilize for on-site concessions for home games and events.
